Outdoor Guardians Basecamp sensor and handheld receiver at a campsite

Know when someone's near. Even while you sleep.

Basecamp pairs four wireless motion sensors with one handheld receiver. Place the sensors around your tent, vehicle or gear. When movement is detected, the receiver alerts you with sound or vibration and shows which sensor was triggered.

No Wi-Fi, no cell signal, no app. Just switch on and set up your perimeter.

Basecamp sensor control panel with mode and range indicators and USB-C port

Three detection modes. One tap to switch.

RADAR detects any moving object with high sensitivity and wide coverage. Best for open ground.

PIR triggers only on moving heat sources such as people and animals. Ideal around trees and plants that sway in the wind.

MIX alarms only when radar and infrared both confirm movement, for far fewer false alarms in wind and rain.

Double-click the settings button to change modes. Single-click to set the range: 3 m, 6 m or 9 m (10, 20 or 30 ft).

Smarter than a basic motion alarm.

Most campsite alarms rely on a single infrared sensor. Basecamp adds microwave radar, so you can choose the right detection for each spot.

Outdoor Guardians Basecamp

  • Three detection modes, switch any time
  • Dual-tech MIX mode resists interference
  • Fewer false alarms in wind and rain
  • Up to 800 m range to the receiver

Typical PIR-only alarm

  • One fixed mode, no adjustment
  • Easily affected by surroundings
  • Prone to false alarms in wind and rain
  • Short wireless range
Basecamp handheld receiver alerting at a night campsite

Alerts you can hear, or feel.

The receiver works on its own long-range radio link, up to 600–800 m (2,000–2,600 ft) in open areas. No network required.

  • Know where: the screen shows which sensor was triggered and when.
  • Up to 20 sensors: pair as many as you need and see how many are online.
  • Alarm log: review recent alerts in the morning.
  • Your choice of alert: several ringtones or silent vibration, with adjustable volume.

4-step setup

The kit includes four sensors, enough to cover every side of your tent or vehicle.

01 · Charge

Fully charge the sensors and receiver via USB-C, in about one hour.

02 · Power on

Long-press the power button on each sensor, then switch on the receiver.

03 · Place

Position sensors at least 3 m (10 ft) apart, facing outward, on a tripod, stake or flat surface.

04 · Set & test

Pick a mode and range for each spot, check every sensor shows online, then walk-test.

Built for the weather. Made to last the trip.

Rain, dew or a dusty trail, the sensors are made to stay outside all night.

IP67 waterproof

Sealed housing and a waterproof USB-C port keep the sensors working in rain and snow.

Up to 800 hours standby

Low-power design means one charge covers a whole trip. A full recharge takes about an hour.

Light to carry. Easy to mount.

Each sensor weighs 70 g (2.5 oz). Four sensors plus the receiver come to about 400 g (14 oz).

Outdoor Guardians Basecamp kit: one handheld receiver and four motion sensors

Everything you need to get started.

  • 1 handheld receiver with belt clip
  • 4 dual-tech motion sensors
  • 1 hard-shell storage case

Get the most reliable coverage.

  • Don't point sensors at large metal objects, spinning fans or metal pipes.
  • Keep sensors away from large antennas and power equipment.
  • Place multiple sensors at least 3 m (10 ft) apart.
  • Avoid pointing two sensor antennas directly at each other.
  • In windy spots with moving branches, switch to PIR or MIX mode.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need Wi-Fi, cell signal or an app?

No. The sensors talk directly to the handheld receiver over their own radio link, so it works in remote areas with no coverage.

Which mode should I use?

Use RADAR in open areas for maximum sensitivity, PIR around trees and bushes that move in the wind, and MIX in bad weather or busy surroundings for the fewest false alarms.

How many sensors can I connect?

One receiver supports up to 20 sensors. The screen shows how many are online and which one triggered an alarm.

Can I use it without waking other campers?

Yes. Choose vibration-only or lower the volume. You can also pick from several ringtones.

Can I leave the sensors out in the rain?

Yes. Sensors are rated IP67 and have a waterproof USB-C port. Dry the port before charging.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 800 hours on standby, enough for most trips without recharging. A full charge takes about one hour over USB-C.

Can I use it at home or on a vehicle?

Yes. Use it around RVs, driveways, sheds, boats or worksites. The 1/4-inch thread fits tripods, light stands and suction mounts.

Does it guarantee campsite security?

Basecamp provides motion alerts to support your awareness. It cannot prevent an intrusion or guarantee that every movement will be detected. Walk-test each sensor after setup.

What warranty does it come with?

Basecamp is covered by a 2-year warranty, with lifetime support from the CAMPERIG team.
